Train & bus travel from Carihuela Park Palace

BUSES
For those who have access to Google maps, timetables can be obtained by clicking on the bus stop symbols.

The local bus offering a local circular route:

Outside the main gate and just to the left (in front of the mini supermarket), is a bus stop. At this bus stop you can catch the 'Aloha - Torremolinos' L-1 bus. This route takes you through Carihuela winding up and through the local streets past Battery Park and Montemar Rail Station (saves the long walk uphill if you want to catch the train), and makes its way into Torremolinos, passing the market place and terminating at the bus terminal in Torremolinos Centro. It then starts again from Torremolinos and winds it way through the tiny streets (how they get round some of those corners is unbelievable!) from Torremolinos and back down to Carihuela, ending up at the same bus stop out side Carihuela Park Palace. There is one standard fare for the journey (approximately 1.30€ per person). This service runs about every 30 minutes, and is usually on time about on the hour and half past (outside Carihuela Park Palace). Actual times can be checked on the bus stop itself.
NOTE:- if you travelling with luggage or a wheelchair / buggy, go to the middle doors of the bus where there is plenty of available space and the driver can lower the entrance to make it easily accessible.

Other buses for travelling further out are:

The other bus services easily accessible from Carihuela Park Palace are on the main dual carriageway at the back of the building. You can get to this by coming out of the main gate and turning immediately left and up the stairs to the main road and turn left, or, if you have a back gate key, simply go out of the back gate and the bus stop is in front of you. The nearside bus stop goes eastwards to Torremolinos and then onto Malaga, and the opposite side of the road westwards towards Benalmadena and onto Fuengirola. The main services are:
Service 120 between Torremolinos and Fuengirola
Service 110 between Benalmadena Costa and Malaga
Service 121 between Torremolinos and Benalmadena Pueblo/Mijas

TRAINS
There are 2 local train stations, one at Montemar Alto, the other being in Torremolinos. Montemar Alto station is virtually opposite Battery Park (just over the hill), but be warned, this is a bit of an uphill walk (especially when carrying luggage). You could, if you wish, get the local bus that takes you up to this station (see 'BUSES' paragraph). If you decide to walk there, come out of the main gates and turn immediately left and up the stairs to the main dual carriageway, across the road and go left towards Benalmadena (in the direction of traffic). Turn right at the next set of lights (opposite the language school), follow the winding roads, bearing left and then right, and you will end up at Battery Park on your right, and just over the hill is Montemar Alto station on your left.
Torremolinos Train station is in the main Plaza Square in front of Santander bank in the centre of Torremolinos, (well sign posted).
Both stations are about the same distance away from Carihuela Park Palace.

The local service is run by 'RENFE' and is line C-1, running from Malaga to Fuengirola.
